University Of Michigan Baseball and Softball Fields
Problem: University of Michigan Baseball and Softball Fields. Existing drainage, a pipe and rock “french drain” system, was failing due to clogging, preventing proper drainage.
Solution: Hydraway 2000 was installed 12” deep by 3” wide trench. The drainage lines were quickly trenched by using a simple trencher by their own crews. The drainage lines ran from the outfield warning track to the infield skin. The lines were approximately 20 feet apart.
Resolution: Tony Pell, Director of Field Maintenance said it best with following direct quote:
“We used [Hydraway] on our baseball field to alleviate drainage issues where we removed the tarp, and as the primary drainage product on our softball field. I found Hydraway very easy to work with, well constructed, and best of all effective. The width of the trench necessary to install Hydraway makes it much easier to tackle drainage issues with minimal disruption to the playing surface.”
