Lutheran High School

Problem: Lutheran High School. An existing football field was built with an inadequate drainage system. During an average rain event, water would drain from the field unto the side lines, creating muddy, wet areas that made playing and field use unsafe for the players and coaches.

Solution: Hydraway 2000 was installed 16” deep in narrow 2” wide trenches. Quick installation was critical since a football game was scheduled 2 days away. It was decided that 2 runs 10’ apart was needed to remove the standing water along the entire length of the field. Also, lateral trenches were installed to connect the two long runs.

Resolution: The installation was completed in a day and half. The game went on as scheduled, despite heavy rainfall during the game. There was no standing water evident during the game. The director of fields operations plans to install more Hydraway 2000 in spring 2007.
